The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller, who applies and implements the company’s financial procedures and systems. He/she shall also review and assess the books and general ledger, statements of accounts, inventories, expenses and any other accounting records to verify the accuracy of the entries and ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures and internal audits. Provides assistance to teams in the application of policies and procedures.

Roles and responsibilities

- Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assess cost centers.
- Assess the distribution of expenses and revenues in general ledger accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Assistance the team in using the accounting system.
- Respond to requests for assistance from management and the accounting team.
- Identify issues and implement solutions with appropriate accounting methods and software.
- Participate in the writing of year-end reports.
- Perform government remittance.

Profile searched

- University degree (BAC) in business administration with specialization in accounting or accountancy. - 3+ years of accounting experience or other relevant equivalent experience.
- *Language: fluent in spoken and written French and good knowledge of English.
- IT:
    - ERP and/or any other accounting system;
    - Microsoft Office Suite;
    - Excel proficiency.

- Have good management of priorities and timelines.
- Have the ability to work as a team and with multiple stakeholders at different levels.
- Resistance to stress.  


*Bilingualism is required for this position as the majority of speakers use English. This skill is essential as approximately 40% of responsibilities will be in English and 60% in French.
