Description
Motrec International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering management, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Director of Engineering will also participate in larger company decisions and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering department with a knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
- Ensure all engineering projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Harness harmonious communication and collaboration with other departments, including sales and production, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the engineering team.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure Motrec International remains at the forefront of the industry.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to company-wide strategic decisions.
- Foster a "get the job done" mindset and culture within the engineering team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles.
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in the electric vehicle or industrial vehicle industry is a plus.
- Driven leader with a proven ability to foster a "get the job done" mindset and culture.
- Bilingual ( French / English ) Perfect 5/5 command of both languages ( spoken and writren ).
- Lead a team of engineers, technicians, designers and draftsmen.
