Financial Markets Diversity Scholarship Program

Program Overview

The Financial Markets Diversity Scholarship Program is dedicated to students interested in a career in Financial Markets and who identify with one or more of the following diversity groups: women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQ2+ community or person with a disability.

This initiative encourages students to gain valuable hands-on work experience and to get acquainted with National Bank Financial Markets culture and organization, as they continue their pursuit of either an Undergraduate or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or any related field. 

The Opportunity

As a recipient of the program, you would receive a $10,000 scholarship and a paid internship opportunity in our offices in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver. Moreover, a member of our team will provide you with mentorship until your arrival at National Bank Financial Markets, to ensure you are positioned for a successful internship.

The internship will take place in 2026 in our Corporate & Investment Banking or Sales & Trading teams depending on your skillset and area of interest.

Eligibility

• You are an Undergraduate or Master’s program student enrolled full-time at a Canadian university.

• You self-identify with one or more of the following diversity groups: women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQ2+ community or person with a disability.

• You have a strong academic record with relevant extra-curricular participation.

• You have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in capital markets upon graduation.

• You are legally eligible to work in Canada.

• Bilingualism is an asset (French required for internships in Montreal).

• A cover letter detailing your motivation for pursuing a career related to financial markets, and detailing what inclusion, diversity and equity means to you.

• A résumé.

• A copy of your recent transcripts.
