National Bank Trust is looking for a dynamic leader who can mobilize and direct an institutional team. As head of Custody, Investment Fund Management and ETF Services, you will contribute to the development of National Bank Trust’s strategy while ensuring sound business governance, product evolution, and client satisfaction in your sector. You will work with internal and external clients as well as prospective clients to maximize our revenues and the profitability of our offering. 

Full service support is central to your responsibilities. It will be essential to develop strong relationships with partners in operations, financial markets, National Bank Investments, IT and all of the Bank’s support teams to ensure that our service offering is optimal.

Your job:

Reporting to the President and CEO of National Bank Trust, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage your sector’s financial performance in order to achieve profitability and business development objectives
  • Maximize the growth of National Bank Trust’s custody activities while improving other sectors’ efficiency and profitability through partnerships and referrals
  • Identify new high-potential markets and implement development strategies in collaboration with our Bank partners
  • Take charge of the strategy and evolution of our custody products, investment funds and ETFs by prioritizing the developments needed in order to have a competitive solution in the market, increase operational efficiency, and improve the client experience
  • In collaboration with the Communications Manager, support marketing strategy efforts to promote service offerings
  • Demonstrate active engagement in RFPs, due diligence processes, pricing strategy and negotiation of internal and external agreements
  • Establish a climate of trust within the organization and with various internal partners to ensure an adequate level of service and efficient processes
  • Work with various Bank departments to establish customer service policies and standards that will ensure client satisfaction
  • See to the quality of services offered and develop strategies to ensure client loyalty
  • Be the contact and escalation point for internal clients and partners
  • Provide mobilizing leadership for the team’s experts and with the sector’s partners
  • Maximize each team member’s contribution by setting performance objectives based on the business plan, while encouraging innovation
  • Act as an NBT ambassador both inside and outside the Bank by promoting our services and educating the teams about the role of securities custodian
  • Participate in industry events to promote our service offering and ensure National Bank Trust’s visibility
  • Keep pace with competition and with market and regulatory changes
  • Make sure our governance processes have a robust design in order to meet regulatory requirements, implement controls, and support required technological developments
  • Develop key performance indicators, identify current issues, and implement action plans to improve quality in line with the Trust’s business strategy
  • Prepare documents and presentations required for the Executive Committee and Risk Management Committee
  • Provide executive and administrative leadership for activities related to the Bank’s securities custody, including participation in the budget process, development and implementation of policies, and presentation of sector objectives
  • Participate in National Bank Trust’s Executive Committee and actively help develop the sector’s strategic plan and budget

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in a related field, and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in custody services, preferably with a trust company at a financial institution, and excellent understanding of the distinctions between personal and institutional trust services
  • Knowledge of trends, products and technology in the banking industry, trust companies and wealth management
  • Recognized expertise in securities custody, investment funds and ETFs
  • In-depth knowledge of custody and fund accounting operations
  • Leadership and collaboration experience in a multi-sector environment
  • Proven expertise in delivering far-reaching strategic and technological initiatives
  • Strong business development focus and experience managing P&L
  • Ability to work in partnership with different key securities custody players within the organization
