Description
As a Personal Accounting and Estate Analyst in the Accounting team at National Bank Trust/Natcan Trust Company (NBT), you’ll be a tax expert working on estate and trust files. In this role, you’ll have a positive impact on the organization by leveraging your expertise as you handle complex files and demonstrate your commitment to providing an exemplary client experience. Your role
- Search for, obtain and analyze tax slips to produce T3 and TP646 annual tax returns for estate files
- Monitor book values of investments held by estates including the calculation of reinvested income, dividends, interest, foreign income, purchases, sales, capital gains and losses, foreign tax, return of capital and fees
- Make accounting entries, produce and cash cheques, send returns and monitor their processing by communicating with government tax authorities
- Perform reconciliation (financial statements or distributions) for estate files and incapacity files (tutorship, curatorship and protection mandate)
- Support and take charge of certain estate settlement files (end-to-end process for files, i.e., obtaining assets, inventory of assets, taxes at death and distribution)
- Support the production of T1 tax returns for individual clients (incapacity files managed by NBT)
- Take charge of various initiatives and projects within the sector related to your area of expertise

Within the Trust Services sector, you are part of a team dedicated to the administration of estates and trusts and report to the account manager for the outside of Quebec clients while being in constant collaboration with colleagues from other regions. Prerequisites
- College diploma completed or any academic equivalent in a related field
- Experience in individual, estate, and trust taxation
- Ability to provide advice to our stakeholders
- Ability to quickly grasp complex problems and handle information from a variety of sources
- Proficient Microsoft Office user, in particular Excel
- Proficiency with TAXPREP software (trusts and personal)
