A career as a Research Associate Analyst in the Media and Telecommunications sector of National Bank Financial Markets Equity Research team means assisting senior analysts in the critical evaluation of potential equity investments.
This position requires an ambitious and self-motivated individual who is comfortable navigating in an ambiguous, demanding and fast-paced environment.
Your job
- Analysis of financial statements and the valuation of domestic and foreign companies
- Develop and maintain of financial models
- Perform industry and market research as well as collect and maintain company and industry data
- Evaluate additional information from the financial press, corporate, industry and alternative sources
- Assist in writing and editing research notes, reports and analyst presentations
- Communicate with institutional clients, management of companies under coverage and equity sales staff
Your Team
National Bank Financial is a leading Canadian Financial Services company. A wholly owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada, it is an established investment dealer that provides research, sales, trading and investment banking services to institutional and retail investors. You will be part of a team of 3 and report directly to the Media and Telecommunications Research Analyst in our Montreal office.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and relevant experience OR Master’s degree and relevant experience
- Industry experience and professional credentials are preferred, such as CPA, CFA designation
- Analytical experience in equity research, preferred
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis
- Strong educational background
- Willingness to work long hours in an unpredictable setting
- Strong writing and communication skills in English, French an asset
