The Financial Analyst is a member of the site Finance team. Reporting directly to the Site Business Manager.
This role supports the core site finance processes including cost analysis, financial and government reporting, and budgeting/forecasting. Specific tasks include assisting with preparation of the monthly departmental cost and capital reviews, monthly and yearly government statistical and tax reporting, providing investment analysis support to operating departments, and assisting with accrual analysis, compliance requirements, statistical input and review, and budgeting / forecasting support. You will also promote Newmont values and ensure compliance and enforcement of its rules and business principles.
- Assist with preparation of monthly cost review package
- Support operating departments to analyze and review costs
- Assist in the monthly / yearly forecasting and budgeting process
- Develop and maintain costs analysis reports and generate pertinent financial analysis
- Complete monthly and annual government statistical and tax reporting as required
- Support financial model preparation for investment approvals
- Support finance team in maintaining internal controls and compliance reporting.
- Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly with regards to health and safety

- University degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
- Minimum of 2 years of business experience in a similar position preferably in an industrial setting
- Good knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft, Excel) and Integrated software system (SAP is an asset)
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Good organizational and communications skills
- Teamwork in a collaborative environment
- Adaptability
- 4x3 schedule (4 days of work followed by 3 days off)
- This position is located at Porcupine Dome Mine
