About Red Chris
Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Journeyperson Mill/Warehouse Technician with a competitive hourly rate of $55.14 in addition to a Travel allowance, benefits package, RRSP program with company matching, and other perks.
To Safely perform on time parts confirmation, parts staging, parts kitting, parts returns and general management of parts flow within Fixed Plant Maintenance. You will be required to communicate with Planning, Execution, and Supply Teams regarding materials required for Maintenance Schedules and Planned tasks.
- Able to work safely and positively both independently, and in a team if required.
- Follow OHS, Mines Act and Red Chris Policies and Procedures. (related to task)
- Able to work outdoors in severe conditions.
- Able to operate Aux. Equipment such as Skid Steer, Telehandler, Loader, overhead crane, and light Vehicle.
- Provide mentorship and assist Workers on proper Parts handling practices.
- Champion safe work practices.
- Required to work withinin Maintenance Playbook Guidelines.
- Required to utilize SAP to digitally track and document status of parts within Maintenance, and supply. Create Reports if required. This includes the return of routable parts to supply.
- Required to understand Maintenance Schedules for on time staging and kitting purposes.
- Required to efficiently ship Oil Samples off site for analysis.
- Required to maintain staging and kitting areas. Utilizing labelling and documentation for parts storage.
- Interprovincial Red Seal certificate required
- Interprovincial Red Seal Millright/Partsperson (Preferred)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required)
- Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Experience working in a warehouse environment an asset
- Overhead crane, Rigging certificates an asset.
- Experience working in a Process Mill an asset.
- Equipment Operator certificate an asset.
- Experience with pumps, conveyors, mills, and piping in a mining environment an asset.
- Experience with Gyratory Crushers an asset.
- Experience living and working in remote camp environment.
- A team player that works well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
