Purpose

Red Chris Mining has an opportunity for a safety-oriented, self-motivated Mine Engineer Co-op Student (Technical Services Open Pit). Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer (Short-Range), the Co-op Student will provide support in a variety of engineering activities. This is an 8-month fixed-term contract with an annual salary range of 66,000-72,000 depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.

Essential Duties

Actual engineering duties are subject to change based on Company needs, but can span the following disciplines and their respective tasks:

  • Drill & Blast: Patter design, QA/QC, and reconciliation, etc.
  • Geotechnical Engineering: Routine inspections, instrumentation monitoring, etc.
  • Mine Engineering: Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including drafting, data entry, volumetric and variance analysis, etc.
  • Surveying: Design field layout and picks-ups, drone operation, data analysis, etc.

Assuming other duties and responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstance and the economic and physical environment of the Company

Training & Experience
  • Active enrolment in Co-op a Bachelor of Science (or similar) BSc Engineering program
  • Prior experience in mine planning and field operations will be considered an asset
