Purpose

Musselwhite Mine is currently seeking an energetic Senior Exploration Geologist to join our team on contract. Reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, the successful candidate will have a high focus on safety and environmental protection in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities
  • Collection, compilation, and interpretation of geological data from exploration programs.
  • Validation and integration of lithological, geochemical and structural data to develop 3D geological models to support exploration decision making and mineral resource estimation.
  • Generate, advance, and evaluate exploration targets.
  • Use of all data to contribute to quality interpretation and support exploration decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Exploration strategy
  • Assist in the production of technical reports.
  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and cultural standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure that company and Industry standards are followed in all Exploration activities.
  • Applying knowledge and experience to mentoring and training Exploration Geologists.
  • Supervision of Exploration work, including employees and contractors.
Requirements
  • 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology or equivalent
  • 8 years of relevant experience in exploration or development projects
  • Registration as a professional geologist.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Vulcan, ioGAS software is required
  • Experience with Geologic Modeling
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening, presentation)
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 35 kg
  • Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
  • Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 14 on,14 days off including travel to site, working 12-hour days.
