Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of:
TEACHER - LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)
ST. HUBERT
0.6 FTE (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday)
Classroom Resource Teacher
Effective immediately
until approximately May 5, 2025, but not to extend beyond June 27, 2025
Mandatory Requirements:
· Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary, Junior and Intermediate Divisions
· Special Education Part I
Preferred Requirements:
· Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions.
· Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies.
· Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language would be an asset
· Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in special education, including the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP’s)
· Knowledge and experience of the Identification, Placement and Review process (IPRC’s)
· Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents.
· Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
· Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies for both Literacy and Numeracy
· Knowledge and experience in supporting comprehensive (structured) literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction and individualized educational programming.
· Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and facilitate differentiated instruction.
· Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement.
· Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.
· Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset.
