Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:
C2425-17 Primary/Kindergarten Caslan School
This is a full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Caslan School is located 45 km SW of the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 100 students in ECS to Grade 8. The majority of students are attending are from Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement. Caslan School has a focus of using the arts and cultures to celebrate student learning and community. The school is seeking a dedicated and caring Primary/Kindergarten Teacher who will work collaboratively with the school community to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where all students learn and excel.
Reporting directly to the principal, the successful candidates will:
Lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being
Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students
Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum
Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population
Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset
Previous experience at the Primary and/or Kindergarten level would be an asset
Education in Early Childhood Development would be an asset
The ability to achieve Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
