The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is seeking someone with strong project leadership and communication skills, and who has a thorough understanding of enterprise risk management.

*Note: This position is at 400 University Avenue in Toronto; however, alternate work arrangements may be available.

What can I expect to do in this role?In this role, you will:
• Lead and manage enterprise risk management (ERM) and audit coordination for the ministry.
• Communicate and support senior management, staff, and external stakeholders on ERM systems.
• Develop and maintain ERM policies, systems, and processes, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Advise senior management on ERM matters and track audit recommendations and responses.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate projects, and contribute to strategic planning and evaluation.

How do I qualify?Technical Knowledge and Experience:• You have knowledge of enterprise risk management and control assessments (e.g. strategic level controls, delivery controls, and IT controls).
• You have experience gaining knowledge of risk management policies/processes/practices and risk mitigation/control strategies in a large organization.
• You have experience gaining knowledge of business programs, policies and directions in a large organization, to provide expertise, lead and advise on risk management and help measure performance to manage risks effectively.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:• You can provide advice and guidance and prepare proposals/ business cases/ complex reports and recommendations.
• You can lead and provide advice on risk management strategies that meet business objectives, influence corrective action, advise on business strategies to avoid risk and analyze responses to audit recommendations.
• You can build and maintain effective working relationships and support horizontal, collaborative problem-solving.

Project Management and Team Leadership Skills:• You have project management and team leadership skills, to lead multi-disciplinary teams in assessing risk and audit response issues and developing and implementing solutions.
• You can plan, schedule, coordinate and direct the work of team members, and provide technical guidance and training.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:• You can analyze and solve complex enterprise risk management issues, lead the development of processes, and provide recommendations to senior management.
• You can interpret and apply directives, legislation, policies, standards and priorities, and evaluate directions, trends, standards and policies.
• You can lead and conduct complex risk assessments, including the development of risk mitigation controls and solutions.
• You can develop implementation and training strategies for stakeholders to support enterprise risk management capacity and capability.
