2024 Summer School Reach Ahead Program - Supply Secondary Teacher

Overview

Continuing Education is looking for Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Secondary OT Roster. Occasional Teachers replace short-term absences in our summer school programs and are an integral part of our district.

The 2024 Summer School Secondary Credit programs will be offered through Remote Learning (Virtual) (synchronous/ asynchronous delivery via Google Classroom/Google Meets) and In Person (synchronous delivery).

Teachers delivering In person courses are expected to work from a designated summer school site.

As a pilot project this summer, teachers delivering the Remote (Virtual) courses have the option to work from home * or from one of the designated sites (LDHS SS, Gloucester HS).

Pay rate: $53.97/hour + 4% in lieu of vacation

PROGRAMS DURATION AND CLASS TIMES (please note that programs have different start and end times):

Reach Ahead Credit (Synchronous and In Person): Thursday, July 4 - Friday, July 26, from 8:30 am - 3:35 pm (17 days)

Locations:

Reach Ahead Credit (Synchronous and In Person): In Person (Gloucester HS and Sir Rober Borden HS) / Virtual School (Earl of March SS, Gloucester HS and LDH SS)

Credit Recovery (Synchronous and In Person): Sir Robert Borden HS

Application Process

Please enter as much information as possible in your Apply to Education profile as this will be used for the initial screening process (i.e. personal contact information, teachable subjects including those which you are formally qualified with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), language skills, teaching experience including start and end dates, education history, lived experiences, etc).

Additional documents such as teaching qualifications/licenses, diplomas/certificates, practicum reports, teaching evaluations, and reference letters are all optional.

Please note that this work does not allow you to accrue seniority credits.

Candidates will be contacted by the Program Principals, Vice Principals or Continuing Education Officer if supply work becomes available.
