We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Elmdale Public School .
Elmdale Public School was built in 1928 and recently underwent many renovations to update our building. It derives its name from the abundant and attractive tree growth once prevalent on the school grounds. Elmdale Public School has a talented and caring staff of 40 members, whose specialties include French as a Second Language, Special Education, Reading and Music. The staff includes a mix of seasoned and new professionals who all work together on a variety of committees to promote student achievement and enhance school life .
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.
Eligibility List
All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified.
Qualifications
Required OCT Divisional Qualifications: Primary, Junior
Required OCT Additional Qualifications: FSL Part 1
Additional Requirements (experience, knowledge, education,) considered an asset for the Position: Spec Ed qualifications, Kindergarten qualifications are considered an asset.

Process for selection:
A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including:
1. At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, and who have the required OCT qualifications and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.
2. If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.
