About Us
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Summerside PS. Summerside Public School is a bright and open K-8 school constructed to match our bright new South Avalon Community. Our school reflects our community - we have a diverse student population, and we strive to create an environment that is rich and nurturing for our students to collaborate, innovate and take care of each other. We offer dual language kindergarten, Early French Immersion, for students in grades 1-8 and English Regular program with Core French for grade 7&8 students. We also are proud of our three K - 8 specialized program classes for students with autism.
At Summerside we value the lived experiences that our staff bring to the school and have in common with our students because representation helps develop strong relationships and understanding amongst the whole community of students, parents, staff and external organizations.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment.
