PROJECT COORDINATOR - CONTROL/BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS
Work Location: Facilities - Energy Management Dept; 1224 Stittsville Main Street
Position Status: 1.0 Term Assignment (6 months, with a possibility of extension)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: ESP Level 8 - $ 62,460 to $79,057 per annum
Effective: Immediately
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Team Manager of Energy Management and Conservation Services, the Project Coordinator for Controls/Building Automation Systems is responsible for initiating, supervising and coordinating projects related to building systems, including monitoring systems performance; and troubleshooting and providing technical support to schools and administrative sites.
Qualifications
A community college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Energy Systems Technology or a related field of study; and 3-4 years directly related experience, including project management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Good understanding of Electrical and HVAC systems/controls, and functions of building automation systems;
A professional certification from Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is a definite asset.
Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, building codes/standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act, operating systems, procedures and techniques.
Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) for interacting with Board personnel and contractors; using tact, diplomacy and discretion.
Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, databases; Google Applications
Analytical skills to analyze and interpret utility reports and data and recommend necessary action.
Writing skills required correspondence and reports on energy conservation programs and developing operation control strategies.
Organization and time management skills required for organizing workload and juggling multiple and concurrent projects and demands.
Project Management skills to manage and supervise construction projects/sites, direct the work of contractors and ensure completion of projects.
