Parkland School Division (PSD) is a large progressive school jurisdiction serving Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County and Athabasca Delta Community School in the northern remote community of Fort Chipewyan. The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary, dynamic, and adaptable teacher to serve as the Program Navigator for our My PATH Program. If you are passionate about holistic education, thrive in collaborative settings, and are excited by the opportunity to guide students and staff toward achieving excellence in wellness and academic programming, this may be the role for you!

For existing PSD Continuing Teachers, this will be viewed as a Secondment for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year with a possibility of an extension for the 2025-2026 school year.

For external applicants this will be a Temporary position for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year with a possibility of an extension for the 2025-2026 school year.

As the My PATH Program Navigator , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the program by leading and managing the operational and strategic direction of My PATH. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders-staff, students, parents, and community partners-to bring innovative programming to life. The Program Navigator will also have the flexibility to contribute part-time to other programs at Connections for Learning, leveraging their skills to enrich our entire learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Lead the My PATH program's strategic planning, including operational budget management, stakeholder consultation, and long-term goal setting. You will ensure alignment with school and division policies, while driving innovative program development.

Program Management & Collaboration:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of My PATH, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource management, and high-quality program delivery. Collaborate closely with health leads to implement a Comprehensive School Health model across multiple sites.

Student Engagement & Wellness:

Develop and implement programming focused on health, wellness, physical literacy, and outdoor adventure, fostering an environment that promotes healthy, engaged lifelong learners.

Community Relations & Partnerships:

Represent My PATH and Connections for Learning at community events, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and develop partnerships with sponsors and external vendors to enhance program offerings.

Curriculum Development:

Lead the development and continuous improvement of health and life skills curricula that support student growth and well-being. Foster student engagement through innovative, hands-on learning experiences.

Team Leadership & Coaching:

Inspire and guide a dedicated team, providing coaching, setting expectations, and fostering collaboration to achieve program objectives. Facilitate regular team meetings and professional development.

What We're Looking For:

A passionate educator with a deep commitment to health and wellness programming, outdoor education, and experiential learning.

Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with experience in budget management, stakeholder consultation, and program evaluation.

Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to foster collaboration among staff, students, parents, and community partners.

Flexibility and creativity in adapting to evolving needs and contributing part-time to other innovative programs at Connections for Learning.

A team player who is enthusiastic about contributing to a culture of growth, wellness, and student success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

Valid Alberta Teaching Certification

Experience in health and wellness education, physical education, or outdoor learning is preferred.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and collaborate within a school setting.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
