As PARSONS continues to grow our Water Business Sector, we are seeking to add a Civil Engineer - Linear Infrastructure to enhance our linear and multi-discipline profile in Municipal Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Management infrastructure. The position will have a focus in the Greater Toronto Region to support our Mobility Solutions Team.
Our team is engaged in the design, contract management and project management of municipal roadways, land development and related municipal linear infrastructure. PARSONS have been actively involved in projects in Southern Ontario area since 1956 and have a well-established team of experts that know how to solve our customers toughest challenges.
The ideal candidate for this position will bring their linear water/wastewater skills based on both current and past experience working with municipal clients in the region and across Canada.

The successful candidate will:
- Work with the Group leader/manager, senior engineer, and project managers to deliver linear infrastructure projects
- Work on a diverse range of water and wastewater linear infrastructure projects including collection, distribution, and transmission systems.
- Under the supervision of senior staff execute design engineering consulting services related to linear environmental infrastructure.
- Support the lead designer in the detailed design of linear projects and coordinating and interface with the wider team and other disciplines.
- Demonstrate high productivity, time management, and strong attention to detail as required to write, review and update tender documents, contract specifications and drawings.
- Support the development of project plans, anticipate, and address project issues and direct the timely completion of technical deliverables.
- Communicate and interact with the project team, clients, permitting agencies, and others as appropriate to achieve project success and build lasting partnerships.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills representing the project’s interest throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications:
- Registered as a P.Eng or eligible for registration within 12 months.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 4+ years of related linear water and wastewater infrastructure experience in municipal design and construction working preferably in a consulting engineering environment on municipal client projects.
Preferred Qualification
- Proficient and experienced using integrated 3D environment software e.g. Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM would be an asset.
- Being familiar or proficient with water distribution, sanitary and storm sewer system modeling and software would be an asset.
- Contract administration such as site reviews, reviewing shop drawings, contractor submittal review, change orders, and respond to requests for information as needed.
- In developing project plans, anticipating and addressing project issues and directing the completion of technical reports, specifications, and detailed drawings.
- Knowledge and understanding of municipal linear water, sanitary, and storm infrastructure design standards and guidelines and construction best practices.
- Produce quality work products and providing excellent client service.
- Understanding Provincial, Regional, and Local Agency approval and permitting requirements and how to meet them.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Functions well within a fast-paced environment and thrives within a team.
- Proficient verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products.
