Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to complete inspections on infrastructure construction projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Performs inspection activities which may include the following: * Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges etc.) * Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping) * Drainage work, traffic control, compliance with storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) requirements * Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering, and street lighting * Irrigation and planting * Roadway and overhead sign removal and installation * Installation on temporary and permanent signs and delineation * Installation of mechanical equipment * Building and facility construction and associated site development * Captures project photographs on a daily basis; file/organize
  • Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and writes daily diaries.
  • Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract.
  • Verifies only approved materials are incorporated in the work.
  • Recognizes potential conflicts, issues, and problems; identifies possible solutions and advises supervisor.
  • Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.
  • Complete compaction testing as required by the Contract

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma and Associate's Degree in a technical discipline/construction-related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of related experience on field projects
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team and/or dynamic work environment
  • Ability to mentor/guide others in work duties/processes
  • Ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (i.e., lifting materials used for testing of concrete, AC, etc.)
  • Ability to use good judgement and work with others
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is preferred
  • Construction safety training, including 10 hours of OSHA training, is desired
  • Ontario G Class Driver's license
