Job Description:

Ready to put your skills to work on Technical or Engineering projects? Are you great with people and have a willingness to work hard to get the job done? This role would be based in our Markham, Ontario office but with some flexibility working from home (Hybrid)

Under minimal supervision, you will manage and develop sign programs for Signage and Wayfinding programs in Canada and the US. You will utilize current design technology (including REVIT and BIM) and computer software packages to prepare wayfinding and signage proposals, programs, presentations, reports, technical papers, technical specifications and Sign Manuals.

The incumbent at this level is capable of managing and performing difficult and complex signage design assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and directs signage and wayfinding tasks. Develops signage and wayfinding programs to establish standards and formats or develop new programs and standards for large-scale Transportation projects.
  • Work directly with the signage team and associated discipline members to provide project-specific signage and wayfinding solutions with accuracy of expression, clarity, and consistency within the parameters of the defined work. Develop a functional team to complete assignments according to schedule
  • Coordinate the production of signage and wayfinding program from concept development to fabrication and contract administration including updating and development of signage and wayfinding standards developments, including technical specifications.
  • Assist in training new employees and reviewing work by others..
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Qualifications:
Degree in Graphic Design and Digital Media preferred but not essential and typically 8+ years of related work experience.

Requirements: include proficiency in design technology and software use including CAD, REVIT and InDesign for signage and wayfinding design assignments.

  • Demonstrated advanced project management and graphic design skills and a thorough knowledge of signage and wayfinding production techniques, reproduction processes, and fabrication are also required. In addition, an aptitude for completing detailed, varied, and simultaneous design assignments and a commitment to meet schedule requirements are necessary.

Portfolio of work preferred but not essential.
