Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented QA Co-Op Student to join our team!
What you'll be doing:
- Data entry such as lane closure reporting
- Assist Traffic Coordinator with drafting of traffic accommodation plans for construction usage.
- Work with Common services Team to coordinate traffic design resources.
- Submittal of purchase requests
- May assist the Traffic Coordinator in design, technical report writing, and state-of-the-art traffic modeling and the creation of construction documentation as required.
- Assist Traffic Coordinator provide input that will ensure solutions and proposed designs have the least impact on public safety and serve to move traffic in the most efficient manner upon completion.
- Follow the project Operating Notices format and process
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to audit and document control practices and that documentation is up to date.
- May be asked to research, as appropriate, all traffic laws and guidelines, (including rail, (RAC,) Alberta Transport, City of Edmonton, and others) on regulatory compliance requirements (interpretation of rules as written in legal codes) and rules matters such as changes to the existing documentation.
- Evaluates input into traffic provided by the City and other stakeholders.
- Assisting the Traffic Coordinator in ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of any changes, delays or concerns in a timely manner and offers proposed solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local government OH&S regulations

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma
- Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
- Ability to read construction blueprints considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to commute from site-site, to support client and project teams, work outside of traditional work hours, as project dictates.
- Able to prioritize and exercise tact and judgment in stressful situations
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, SharePoint, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Excel, BluBeam, Word. Aconex an asset
