Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region. Hythe Regional School is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Full-Time Indigenous Liaison Worker (35 Hrs/Week) . Qualifications: We are seeking a student-focused Indigenous Liaison Worker to facilitate Indigenous education and cultural awareness along with supporting communication with Indigenous families. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Experience working with indigenous youth is an asset. Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Foster student success by helping students develop positive skills which will assist them in managing issues and events Provide assistance to students on an individual and small group basis, and provide a link to a variety of community agencies and resources Meet with Indigenous students to promote academic success, social, emotional, spiritual wellness, postsecondary and career planning Collaborate with school staff to discuss and implement cultural events and programs relevant to Indigenous curriculum content Promote partnerships with outside agencies to support students and families Promote positive and ongoing communication with parent(s) and or guardians of students, while advocating effectively in support of students and their families Applications should include: Completed Apply to Education profile Cover letter Detailed resume Three references with current contact information A current Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), dated within the last six months, is a condition of employment. The salary range for this position is $20.06/hour to $26.41/hour.
