Description
QUALIFICATIONS
* Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, or Masters in Counselling Psychology.
* Eligible for active practicing licensure to practice with applicable regulatory body in the province of Manitoba
* Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
* Current certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
* Three (3) years full-time equivalent professional experience in an approved Addictions and or Mental Health Care setting in the past five (5) years
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
* Other combinations of related professional education and experience may be considered
* Demonstrated knowledge of current mental health trends, leading practices and the Mental Health Act and other related legislation
* Completion of minimum CODEC Level 1 Training, to demonstrated through understanding of issues related to addition and co-occurring disorder
* Evidence of on-going professional development to maintain skills and knowledge
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
* Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
* Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
* Demonstrated communication skills
* Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
* Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
* Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
* Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team
