QUALIFICATIONS
* Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
* Professional licensure in good standing with the applicable college or professional association
* Completion of or enrollment in recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Course
* Clinical education or experience, i.e. nursing and or Medical Device Reprocessing Technologist
* A combination of skills and experience will be considered
* Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in an acute acre sterile processing department or operating room
* Expertise in and knowledge of applicable standards related to Medical Device Reprocessing (i.e. AORN, ORNAC, AAMI, CSA)
* Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a health care setting
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health
* Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability
* Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
* Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations
* Demonstrated experience in initiating changes and improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) environment
* Ability to prioritize in a changing environment
* Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management
* Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to develop Policy & Procedures
* Ability to display independent judgment
* Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
* Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
* Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis


POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Manager Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) shall be accountable to the Director Acute Care BRHC and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of the MDR departments within Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

  1. Responsible for the safe administration and operation of MDR Departments throughout Prairie Mountain Health.
  2. Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of MDR Departments within Prairie Mountain Health.
  3. Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to MDR Departments.
  4. Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.
  5. Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.
  6. Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.
  7. Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.
  8. Promotes positive public relations.
  9. Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health’s Vision, Mission and Values statements.
  10. Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health’s services.
