QUALIFICATIONS
* Grade 12 Education (MB Standards)
* Other combinations of education and experience may be considered
* Education and experience working with and understanding spreadsheet and word processing applications
* Preferably one (1) year experience working within a computerized inventory control system involving receiving, shipping, storage and distribution of supplies
* Thorough understanding of inventory management processes, including stock rotations
* Knowledge of hospital and long term care supplies and equipment
* Must be in excellent physical condition and demonstrate sound body mechanics when bending, stretching, lifting, pushing while handling heavy objects
* Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
* Demonstrated communication skills
* Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License


POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager of Materiel Management, the Stores Clerk performs functions and duties designed to facilitate the receiving, shipping, control, storage, pick-up, delivery and issuing of goods to and from the Materiels Management Department within the Swan Valley Health Facilities and Community Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receives, inspects, verifies and accepts or rejects all supplies and equipment delivered to the Materiel Management Department.
  2. Accurately prepares and processes all inventory documentation concerned with the storage and distribution of supplies including receipts, receiving reports, stock issue requisitions, return-to-stock credits, returns to vendors.
  3. Replenishes stock for departments/facilities from supply requisitions on a regular basis.
  4. Keeps accurate records of all transactions.
  5. Provides good communications with the Manager of Materiel Management in regard to all activities assigned (i.e. low supply levels, shipping and vendor errors, etc.).
  6. Coordinates the delivery and distribution of goods according to departmental schedules.
  7. Perform all duties related to the pick up and delivery of mail, parcels and supplies to the various facilities.
  8. Deliver and oversee bank deposits and petty cash transactions.
  9. Operate postage machine for outgoing mail and parcels.
  10. Pick up and deliver parcels to/from the Bus Depot.
  11. Perform daily inspection/maintenance of motor vehicle.
  12. Perform duties such as copying and packaging to assist with distribution.
  13. Performs monthly checks for expired products in the Materiel Management Department and on the nursing wards at the hospital.
  14. With the approval of the Manager makes non-stock purchases when required.
  15. Laminate various information/forms/pictures as needed.
  16. Deal with requests from departments/facilities on an emergency basis.
  17. Participate in inventory counts.
  18. Follow policy and procedure set out for the Materiel Management Department and Parkland Regional Health Authority.
  19. Sundry duties as assigned.
