QUALIFICATIONS
* Full-time high school or post-secondary student, at least 16 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall
* Preference will be given to students enrolled in a post-secondary Business, Commerce, or Finance program
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information
* Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
* Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance Summer Student is responsible for assisting Accounts Receivable and processing invoices through the computerized financial system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

  1. Process accounts receivable invoices as required
  2. Accept payments and accurately record in the computerized financial system
  3. Assist in preparing bank deposits and reconcile cash as required
  4. Reconcile and examine outstanding accounts receivable and follows up on delinquent accounts
  5. Print and provide statements, documentation and reports as required
  6. Check, balance, make disbursements and replenishes petty cash funds
  7. File electronic and/or manual documents in a timely and accurate manner
  8. Provide assistance to clients and staff in person and/or via telephone
  9. Process and redistribute incoming mail
  10. Other duties as assigned
