Description
* Current enrolment in a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) and intending to return to the program in the fall
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
* Demonstrated strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently in a team environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
* Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
* Maintain a professional manner at all times
* Ability to prioritize in a changing environment

POSITION SUMMARY:
The pharmacy technician summer student provides support to managers and staff through completion of various duties under the supervision of pharmacy staff. The duties may include drug distribution, dispensing, prepackaging, inventory control and sterile preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overview:
- Prepare and distribute medications via the medication distribution system.
- Learn and function with pharmacy software systems.
- Compound and manufacture pharmaceutical products.
- Inventory control functions.
- Function in the Regional Pharmacy program.
- Distribute controlled substances and maintain records.
- Other duties as assigned.
