You are a self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, with knowledge of tolerance, fits, mechanical design, engine performance and inspection techniques, you’re well equipped to strip, assemble, balance, test and package aircraft gas turbine engines. As a member of our Lethbridge engine assembly team, you will also be required to inspect assemblies and test work of other Production Technicians, troubleshoot complex problems, recommend enhancements, and prepare accurate records and documentation.

What are our expectations?

Reporting to the Supervisor, this position supports the assembly and safe delivery of the highest quality engines, on time to our customers, by delivering the required results in all areas of production, EHS and other related support areas. This position drives results to our business commitments, continuous improvement, and adherence to all corporate programs.

What your day to day will look like?

  • Perform assembly, test and inspection functions in a variety of areas.

  • Strip, inspect, assemble, balance, test and package engines as directed and as required.

  • Support the safe delivery of quality aircraft engines.

  • Meet daily production requirements free from defects.

  • Adhere to all quality, legal, EH&S rules and procedures.

  • Maintain a safe working environment, practice Active Caring by identifying and solving EH&S issues.

  • Able to support all EH&S, CORE, Ethics, and Corporate programs and initiatives by working with people across our facilities to ensure programs are effectively applied (as required).

  • Knowledge of tolerances, fits, mechanical design, blueprint reading, engine performance and inspection techniques.

  • Able to maintain flexibility to meet changing priorities.

The tools you need to be successful:

This multi-faceted role calls for a candidate that brings the proven ability to read and interpret drawings, preferably supported with either a college diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Wind Turbine Technology, or Journeyman Certification in the automotive or mechanical trades. Equivalent combination of technical skills and experience may be considered. In addition, we are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • A dynamic ability to learn quickly and work in multiple areas in our assembly and test areas.

  • A demonstrated positive attitude, a pattern of personal and professional conscientiousness and courage.

  • A demonstrated pattern of reliability and dependability.

  • The ability to read and write English is required.

  • The ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, to support production requirements.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude; two year post-secondary education in the field of aeronautics is preferred.

  • Physical ability to lift/ carry up to 25 pounds.

  • A strong ability to bend, reach, push, pull, use hand tools.
