The position of Controller – Financial & Administrative Management is a strategic role within the organization, reporting directly to the President. Responsible for overseeing accounting and management information systems, the Controller plays a key role in budget planning and maintaining internal control systems. As a guarantor of the integrity of accounting transactions and the reliability of financial and operational information, this role ensures the delivery of comprehensive and accurate data essential for guiding the strategic decisions of senior management. The position demands a sharp analytical mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to support the organization's overall performance.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of global financial strategies by considering ratios, ROI, and opportunity costs.
- Analyze major projects and business opportunities, and provide recommendations.
- Optimize capital management and investments by defining clear objectives.
- Manage the budgeting process and prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
- Ensure the production of compliant financial statements.
- Guarantee the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with accounting and legal standards.
- Participate in annual financial audits.
- Develop and maintain effective internal control systems.
- Assist teams in managing sales and purchase contracts, as well as financial operations.
- Monitor profitability by unit of measurement and establish a cost accounting system.
- Oversee cash collections, treasury, and credit risk.
- Supervise financial risk management (liquidity, interest rates, currencies, etc.).
- Manage budgets related to information technology.
- Be proficient in using financial modeling to represent the financial position.
Work environment
Requested skills
- University diploma;
- 5-10 years of relevant experience;
- Proficiency in Office Suite software and ability with technology tools (i.e., ERP, CRM, accounting tools, etc.);
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written;
- CPA, Chartered professional accontant title
- Be self sufficient and have good organizational skills
- Be proactive and have initiative
