\nRole & Responsibilities:\n\n
- \n\t
- Reviews and recommends appropriate actions in the processing of Owner\'s Cost accounts against best practice methodologies, ensuring compliance against processes and procedures, developing new and required procedures and processes as necessary\n\t \n
- Reviews planned and issued purchase\xa0requisitions for goods and services to ensure that they are within the project scope, the approved budget, and that the correct cost coding has been assigned\n\t \n
- Reviews Change Requests, Change Orders and potential changes as applicable and recommends appropriate actions\n\t \n
- Develops, manages and reports on Owner\'s costs\n\t \n
- Prepares regular periodic and ad-hoc cost reports\n\t \n
- Reviews and recommends payment certificates for approval\n\t \n
- Performs analysis and\xa0initiates trends for all potential cost variations or risks\n\t \n
- Performs incurred cost functions and analysis as assigned\n\t \n
- Prepares cost flows as assigned\n\t \n
- Reviews and performs analysis on PCNs \n\t \n
- Performs detailed analysis to estimate trends and forecast final cost\n\t \n
- Develops, implements and hands over efficient forecasting models for use against various Commercial strategies employed by various Contracts\n\t \n
- Prepare reports (weekly, monthly, ad-hoc) and others as required\n\t \n
- Ensures system data and integrity maintained and up to date\n\t \n
- Other duties as assigned by the Project Controls Manager (or designate)\n \n
\nQualifications / Requirements:\n\n
- \n\t
- University degree in engineering/business administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience\n\t \n
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in cost management on large engineering/construction projects with a focus on heavy civil and industrial projects. Site experience an asset. Additional years in other\xa0disciplines on large construction project considered an asset\n\t \n
- Knowledge of Cost Management best practices (AACEI, PMI, etc.)\n\t \n
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse work team\n\t \n
- Experience in the use and application of cost management systems. Experience in PM+ or Prism is an asset\n\t \n
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Excel and MS Access\n\t \n
- Strong SAP experience\n\t \n
- Commercially astute individual with a strong background in cost analysis\n\t \n
- Experience in claims management and productivity analysis is an asset\n\t \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)\n\t \n
- Experience working with (or for) large national and international construction contractors considered an asset\n\t \n
- Experience with\xa0multiple contracting models and compensation terms including unit rate, lump sum and reimbursable\n\t \n
- Adaptability to perform in demanding work environments\n \n
