\nRole & Responsibilities:\n\n
- \n\t
- Develop and implement advanced cost control methodologies and best practices to ensure accurate and efficient cost management.\n\t \n
- Oversee and validate cost accounts, ensuring compliance with project scope, approved budgets, and established procedures.\n\t \n
- Lead the creation and maintenance of cost forecasting models aligned with diverse commercial strategies.\n\t \n
- Manage and track project budgets, identifying and addressing variances, trends, and potential risks.\n\t \n
- Approve and monitor purchase requisitions and ensure proper cost coding allocation.\n\t \n
- Lead change control processes, maintaining the change order register and ensuring the proper evaluation of change requests and orders.\n\t \n
- Analyze potential cost variations and risks, recommending effective mitigation strategies.\n\t \n
- Prepare and deliver regular and ad-hoc cost reports, including cost trends, forecasts, and progress measurements.\n\t \n
- Conduct in-depth analysis of progress curves, deviations, under-runs, and over-runs to inform stakeholders.\n\t \n
- Supervise and mentor cost control teams, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.\n\t \n
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to align cost control strategies with project objectives.\n\t \n
- Ensure data integrity in cost management systems and adherence to industry standards (e.g., AACEI, PMI).\n\t \n
- Lead efforts to maintain compliance with contractual requirements and company policies.\n \n
\nQualifications / Requirements:\n\n
- \n\t
- University degree in engineering/business administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience\n\t \n
- At least 10 years’ experience in cost management on heavy infrastructure projects\n\t \n
- Experience in a leadership position (team lead, manager, etc.) an asset\n\t \n
- Knowledge of Cost Management best practices (AACEI, PMI, etc.)\n\t \n
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse work team\n\t \n
- Experience in the use and application of cost management systems. Experience in PM+ or Prism is an asset\n\t \n
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Excel and MS Access\n\t \n
- SAP experience\n\t \n
- Commercially astute individual with a strong background in cost analysis\n\t \n
- Experience in claims management and productivity analysis is an asset\n\t \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)\n\t \n
- Experience working with (or for) large national and international construction contractors considered an asset\n\t \n
- Experience with\xa0multiple contracting models and compensation terms including unit rate, lump sum and reimbursable\n\t \n
- Adaptability to perform in demanding work environments\n \n
