Description

The Utility Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. Job covers other absent couriers that may be on any work shift.

Job Details:

Fort Frances Depot - 600 Scott Street, Fort Frances ON

Working Hours: 30 hours per week (guaranteed)

Monday-Sunday availability

Schedule may vary, shifts may vary, weekend work required

Pay: $20.85/hour

Responsibilities

Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager

Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 (non GDL) license, clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to read maps; Good sense of geographical direction
  • Flexible to work additional hours or overtime
  • Able to pass a criminal record check
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Strong customer focus and communication
  • Reliable and punctual behaviour
  • Steel toed boots
  • Courier methods training and/or work-related experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player, Problem solving
  • Proper scan and load techniques
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of customer focus, communication, collaboration, trust and self-development
Education

Completion of High School

Experience

Completion of vocational and business courses commonly taught at high school level
Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
