Description
As a Learning and Development team member, the Operations Trainer plays a crucial role in delivering onboarding training for employees in the Centres of Excellence and regional Purolator locations. This position involves close collaboration with Key Stakeholders including Learning and Development (L&D), Operations, Human Resources (HR) and Health and Safety (H&S) to identify training needs and provide both new and refresher courses to employees. The Operations Trainer is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members, which is essential for fostering growth and development within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Deliver in-class/virtual training for front-line operations employees and provide specialized training in transportation and logistics
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all training records within the Learning Management System (LMS) for all employees that fall within their responsibility.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate employees on proper job performance procedures and standards, such as Practical demonstrations on the job, Road Evaluations and Certifications (Route Rides) competency evaluations (All operations groups)
- Continuous development of training skills as it evolves (i.e. ongoing personal development to continue learning as the business changes, towards continuous improvement)
- Provide ongoing input on training programs based on feedback from Internal business partners
- Adult Education Certification or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams and WebEx would be required
- Ability to work independently or in groups to achieve training goals
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate employees on proper job performance procedures and standards
- Must complete/have completed Purolator’s Defensive Driving and Courier Methods and Procedures course.
- A valid non-probationary Driver's License with a Clean Driving Abstract (please upload a current driver's abstract with your resume)
- Ability to travel 20% to 50% of the time to Purolator Locations.
- Must be flexible with work schedule to accommodate business needs
