RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • As the project evolves, this person will leverage the experience gained in implementing EV charging and fleet electrification solutions, and look for continuous opportunities to improve deployment, providing the project leadership team with recommended implementation pathway, and best program management practices to position assets and end users for electrification.
  • Working directly with key project team stakeholders develop and oversee infrastructure scope of work, design specifics, construction execution, and handover to operations
  • SME lead for all infrastructure RFP / RFQ’s
  • Working closely with and overseeing energy engineering work by vendors and partners; engage with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders such as safety
  • Engage and build relationships with utilities to gain alignment and support
  • Submit detailed project reports to PMO and Project Leadership for review and approval, including making an informed recommendation on installation costs and estimates for electric vehicle charging equipment and supporting infrastructure (IE, renewable energy or battery storage+
  • Decarbonization leadership team member accountable for facility electrical infrastructure readiness at identified terminals to support EV charging solutions necessary to meet corporate Green House Gas, GHG, reduction targets.
  • Provide key facility insights / information to the development and ongoing refinement of the Decarbonization and EV Deployment Roadmap.
  • Assess and make recommendations towards the potential application of new innovations and technologies within the energy / electrical / facility space, supporting test Pilots where defined.
  • Support costing activities to establish a rolling 5 year budget as well as preparation of BOD Asks for infrastructure funding.
  • Lead Infrastructure & Power EV workstream, managing team resources as well as connectivity to Terminal teams
  • Industry involvement, focusing on access to Energy, Energy management and charging solutions including; associations, publications, newsletters, conferences along with extensive networking.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in designing and deploying electric infrastructure/building electrification and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, legislation, policies, procedures, professional or technical practices, and precedents.
  • Proficiency in leading and evaluating land and project due diligence, as well as experience developing pre-construction project budgets and schedules.
  • Structured thinking to identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices with previous experience overseeing cross-functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects and monitoring project activities for overall adherence to timelines, budgets, and project performance objectives.
  • Proven collaborative teamwork and mentorship characteristics with excellent organizational and time management skills. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including operations, construction, finance and legal to deliver projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including a track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of French and English, spoken and written, is an asset
  • BSc degree or Diploma in electrical, architectural, civil, industrial, construction engineering, or construction management. Relevant Field experience is also considered as a major qualifier.
