French Immersion Teachers Teaching on Call (“TTOC's”)
School District 47 (Powell River) is seeking talented French Immersion educators to enrich the learning experience of our students. We are hiring French Immersion TTOC’s who have a strong work ethic, are knowledgeable about current research in education, and can plan and implement creative and engaging lessons based on the BC Ministry of Education Curriculum.
The District serves the educational needs of approximately 3000 students through elementary and secondary (Gr. 8-12) schools and other educational programs and employs approximately 400 staff.
Located on the Sunshine Coast, combining the natural beauty, amazing outdoor recreation opportunities associated with the Powell River lifestyle, and an exciting and fulfilling work environment, it is ideal for those pursuing a healthy balance both professionally and personally.
Qualifications
Completion of a Bachelor of Education
Membership in or eligible to become a member of the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS)
French Immersion training and/or experience (native or native-like fluency)
Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English
Successful French Immersion teaching or practicum experience

Candidates for this position may be eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred for pre-hire travel, relocation, and immigration, as well as for a pre-employment signing bonus of up to $1,500 less required deductions.
