2025 Global Asset Management, Winter Technical Analyst (4-8 months)

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Technical Analyst (Operation Analyst and Cybersecurity and IT Risk Analyst) to join the RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM). If you are passionate to learn about IT operation and technical support, please read on.

Technical Operations Analyst

• Utilizing all available resources to perform issue investigation and troubleshooting e.g. documentation, escalations etc.

• Monitoring and improving the availability of our software solutions and data integration batch jobs.

• Proactively supporting in-house applications working with various monitoring tools.

• Creating and maintaining documentation for incident resolutions.

Cybersecurity and IT Risk Analyst

• Support GAM teams to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations while adhering to the industrys best practices.

• Assist the Access Control and business teams by reviewing and updating policies and roles via manual access reviews or role recertifications.

• Participate in reviews & investigations related to internal and external audit.

• Promote in organizational level remediation planning.

• Engage in other projects such as coordinating and reviewing findings, remediations, business impact analysis, risk assessments, and contribute to developing strategies.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Major in computer science or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with SQL, C#, Java, NodeJS, Python, and Microsoft technologies be beneficial (school project experience counts)

• Knowledge of supporting Windows and Mac operating systems

• Knowledge of supporting mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Android devices

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Excellent problem-solving skills, flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both business users and technical individuals

Nice-to-have

• Knowledge and experience in supporting a trade floor environment.

• Understanding of Active directory

• Understanding of trading systems such as Bloomberg/Reuters products
