As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Associate Director - Liquidity Risk will support oversight of liquidity risk across RBC. Your role involves understanding the complexity of managing risk across large portfolios of assets, liabilities and off-balance sheet instruments, at the RBC level and within individual business lines and legal entities. You will help meeting regulatory expectations for liquidity risk and the oversight of liquidity risks.

What is the opportunity?

As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Associate Director - Liquidity Risk will support oversight of liquidity risk across RBC. Your role involves understanding the complexity of managing risk across large portfolios of assets, liabilities and off-balance sheet instruments, at the RBC level and within individual business lines and legal entities. You will help meeting regulatory expectations for liquidity risk and the oversight of liquidity risks

What will you do?

  • Risk oversight of balance sheet models related to liquidity stress testing including parameter reviews.
  • Undertakes the Liquidity risk first assessments against regulations, internal policies and industry best practices
  • Monitor activities and exposures to ensure adherence to approved policies and limits.
  • Prepare insightful analysis and commentary focusing on drivers of material changes in risk positions.
  • Assist in the analysis of proposals for new products and businesses and ensure risk implications are understood and captured
  • Brief senior management on emerging risks and market/regulatory developments that impact liquidity and funding.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and plan for compliance to future requirements related to liquidity risk.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Haves

  • Minimum of 4yrs experience in risk management preferably credit/liquidity risk.

  • Delivery and accountability of risk related initiatives
  • Development of other individuals skills within the context of liquidity and non-trading risk
  • Partnering with external groups to achieve results.
  • Previous experience with risk oversight, Balance Sheet Management, Liquidity Risk, Stress Testing and Policy Oversight,
  • Understanding of banks businesses and balance sheet structure
  • Capable of managing senior level discussions with various stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves:

  • MBA, MA, MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or other relevant discipline is desired.

  • Industry knowledge and experience, including prior roles involving lending and/or credit structuring
