Job Summary

The Data Services group within Capital Markets is responsible for ensuring data is fit for purpose and accurate. As an Associate in the reconciliation space, you will be responsible for reconciliation data quality control implementation and issue management. This is a unique opportunity to assist the execution of key components of our first line reconciliation data strategy. You will be called on to find solutions to complicated data issues and will face off directly with members of various regulatory operations teams, stakeholders from Capital Markets desks, and stakeholders within Business and Client Services (BCS). As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong data analysis skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times.

Job Description

  • Investigate incoming reconciliation requests from end users. Holistically review reconciliations to identify opportunities for consolidation and scalable future-ready requirements.
  • Work with various stakeholder teams to understand how each reconciliation is being used to support the refinement of controls and remediation of data issues. Translate business needs into key elements to be implemented into solution design.
  • Analyze data elements for strategic sourcing opportunities.Continually seek out ways to optimize the use of data in the most efficient way possible.
  • Develop requirements based on standard reconciliation models. Assess models on an ongoing basis for potential improvements that reduce future requests or intervention.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business users and IT partners at both senior and junior levels
  • Conduct data analysis in support of applications and projects, including identifying and documenting business rules, data needs and data specifications.

Must-have

  • Strong communication skills, to capture requirements and answer questions from stakeholders.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, includingstrong experience with SQL to generate custom queries and analysis, and leveraging Excel to link disparate data sets and trend data.
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field or 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of different reconciliation types, such as cash, position, trade, and data reference
  • Experience using intelliMatch, Xceptor, or other reconciliation platforms
  • Knowledge of global markets business processes and/or experience working with Market/Reference data.
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycles, including focus on data governance
  • Experience with data science methodologies, including machine learning and advanced pattern recognition.
