Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBCs Technology and Operations division. GFTs impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

The AML IT team is responsible for engineering software solutions in support of our business sponsor in Group Risk Management. AML IT provides the tools and data to the Financial Crime team to uncover, investigate and report on potential criminal activity and provides information to relevant regulators in a timely fashion.

What will you do?

  • Provide oversight and guidance to AML IT teams for the successful delivery of programs and projects.

  • Provide leadership in ensuring best practices are followed, ensuring compliance with RBC and AML IT's project management philosophy and methodologies.

  • Manage AML IT initiatives with an overall integrated approach with Business stakeholders, ensuring the best possible return on investment.

  • Manage a group of 5-15 employees and contractors, providing coaching and mentoring.

  • Oversee project team resourcing, working with other AML IT Directors to ensure changes are discussed and staffing needs are promptly addressed.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex project risks and issues.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience in program and project management

  • 5+ years of experience in managing teams

  • Ability to lead and develop a team to execute projects using an Agile or Iterative Waterfall approach.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.

  • Understands the implications of working in a regulatory environment.

Nice-to-have

  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory/financial and risk management

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
