What is the opportunity?

This position is accountable for the development and management of individual Life insurance products at RBC Life Insurance Company with a focus on Participating Whole Life Insurance. The ideal candidate will have a strong pulse on client needs, industry trends and the regulatory environment. This role is a key leadership position with a focus on driving growth for the life portfolio, demonstrating market leadership and relationship management with external and internal business partners.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts for Life and PAR whole life products for all areas of RBC Insurance, partnering with key functional areas (digital, data, sales, pricing, valuations, corporate underwriting), focusing on driving profitable growth while managing risk.
  • In a collaborative fashion, lead analytics, research, design, and implementation of competitive products in life insurance and PAR Whole Life products to ensure competitiveness, increased market share and profitable growth.
  • Contribute to achieving revenue associated with sales goals and increasing market penetration through strong relationships with all cross functional areas.
  • Lead the life insurance product team, ensuring employee engagement with a focus on talent management.

What will you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Experienced in life insurance product management, with a specific and proven expertise in PAR Whole Life product management. Strong familiarity with governance and regulatory requirements of managing a PAR Whole Life product.
  • Strong leadership skills including, relationship building/management abilities, impact and influence, problem solving, drive, decision making and people leadership skills. Ability to balance organizational risk appetite with growth.
  • Strategic business acumen and organizational awareness with experience leading in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders. Conceptual thinking with the ability to translate strategies and ideas into practical applications/program development.
  • Team player and collaborator: Ability to impact and influence across a variety of cross functional internal partners at all levels with strong change management experience.
