Head of Business Analysis

The Head of Business Analysts in the RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) Project Management Office (PMO) is a pivotal role that balances strategic leadership with hands-on project management and business analysis expertise. The successful candidate will lead a geographically dispersed team of Business Analysts while also contributing individually to the execution of complex projects. With a strong background in both project management and business analysis, the Head of BAs will drive the delivery of solutions that meet the strategic goals of the organization. Asset management knowledge is highly preferred, reflecting the specialized nature of the team.

What will you do?

• Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Act as a Senior Individual Contributor, taking on complex business analysis tasks and project management responsibilities (this role is a balance of team leadership and individual contributor components);

• Act as a bridge between Business and Technology and ensure both aspects of any project are speaking the same language and working toward a common goal;

• Balance Strategic Thinking with tactical action to drive results in support of the GAM and its key stakeholders;

• Contribute to the on-going maturity, quality and speed of transformation delivery through the improvement of business analysis standards and best practices;

• Impact and Influence senior leadership team members individually and collectively to enable project and team success.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• 10+ years of combined experience in Project Management and Business Analysis, demonstrating a proven track record of successful project delivery within the asset management sector and a history of progressively increasing responsibility in requirements management on large and complex projects.

• Exceptional communications and change management skills; comfort presenting to executive level leadership; demonstrated skill at producing succinct and factual documentation/content to guide discussions and decisions;

• Ability to define and track key metrics that demonstrate value for data-driven decision making;

• Comfort with ambiguity and able to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment while handling multiple concurrent activities supported by excellent organizational skills;

• Strong ability to impact and influence without formal authority; confident and approachable and able to deliver results by building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Professional Certification: CBAP and/or PMP/PgMP certification preferred

• Strong strategy acumen and experience in the financial industry, particularly in asset management.

• Advanced understanding and experience of RBCs Agile, iWF, and Business Agility project management frameworks and tools (e.g. LucidChart, Jira, Leankit, Confluence);

• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and projects

The expected base salary range for the above position is $100,000 - $145,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidates experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.

This position will be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
