Regional Director, Commercial Mortgage Finance

What is the opportunity?

As a Regional Director, Commercial Mortgage Finance - GTR and Ontario North East (ONE), you will lead a team of Commercial Mortgage Associate Directors that specialize in providing commercial real estate financing and advisory services to BFS clients around Income Producing Properties by working directly with BFS partners and their clients. Additionally, you will be responsible to ensure that your team is providing sound and appropriate CRE structuring and credit solutions. You will also be responsible for recruiting, training and coaching your team to becoming specialists in commercial real estate finance. You are accountable and take ownership for driving Commercial Mortgage Solutions, client experience, business performance, portfolio quality and employee engagement. You will help develop and execute market strategies in the respective markets your teams provide support.

What will you do?

• Provide leadership, direction and ongoing coaching to a team of Commercial Mortgage associate Directors to effectively underwrite commercial credit

• Collaborate with BFS partners to structure and deliver credit submissions to Group Risk Management

• Maintain portfolio quality oversight through proactive portfolio management routines

• Maintain robust practice management routines with BFS partner.

• Maintain on going and effective communication with our Group Risk Management partners

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• 5+ years of Commercial Financial Services experience or 5+ years of direct Commercial Mortgage Lending experience

• Previous experience managing and leading a team

• Demonstrated performance to deliver on mandated objectives

• Travel required to support the team and business partners in the GTR and ONE

Nice to have:

• Experience credit underwriting real estate transactions

• Experience in real estate banking
