What is the opportunity?
This role reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, Digital and Personal Distribution (D&PD), Personal and Commercial Operations (PCO), and Personal Banking and Digital Technology. The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications will develop and execute compelling internal and external communications strategies that support the business objectives of Personal and Commercial Operations (PCO), and Personal Banking and Digital Technology (PB&DT), and enhance and protect RBCs brand. This role will work with a diverse group of senior business leaders, internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver creative communications to drive awareness of the business strategy and priorities.
What will you do?
- Design and execute compelling internal and external communications strategies to build awareness of business strategy, priorities, milestones and portfolio of solutions.
- Manage external agency partners and collaborate with various internal stakeholders to develop and execute on integrated PR programs that are aligned with the broader business objectives.
- Develop content to support key internal/external campaigns, including: speeches, op-ed articles, videos, social content, media materials and employee communications.
- Provide day-to-day communications counsel to senior leaders and business partners as it relates to media messages, issues and reputational risks.
- Support the delivery of media monitoring and campaign reporting, as required.
- To support the Senior Director of Communications with planning and execution of communications campaigns and events.
- To contribute to success of Brand & Communications goals.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree/postgraduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field
- 7+ years of communications experience
- Outstanding storytelling and written and verbal communications skills
- Extensive experience providing strategic communications advice and developing content for senior executives
- Extensive internal and external communications experience, including the ability to effectively execute PR campaigns, manage agency partners and develop internal employee communications
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
Nice-to-have
- Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to facilitate between and influence executives and key decision makers
- Experience working in Financial Services or Technology Start-up industries.
- Fluency in French
