What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Paralegal Capital Markets, you will provide paralegal support to the Capital Markets and Wealth Management legal teams of RBC Law Group using a high degree of analytical, communication and organizational skills, focusing on transactional and regulatory documentation for Global Markets, Global Investment Banking and Corporate Banking. You will build effective relationships with business partners and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
What will you do?
Reviewing and negotiating all non-disclosure agreements for Global Markets, Global Investment Banking and Corporate Banking.
Drafting, updating and maintaining all Canadian corporate powers of attorney for Capital Markets entities.
Reviewing trading-related documentation for the Global Markets in North America, including legal opinions, electronic trading agreements, internal service level agreements, powers of attorney and other corporate supporting documents.
Maintaining Capital Markets template legal documentation.
Renewing permits and making regulatory filings for the Commodities business.
Supporting Wealth Management lawyers on various projects.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Direct experience negotiating agreements under tight deadlines.
Strong ability to balance competing work demands and to work independently.
Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
A strong desire to build effective relationships with internal partners.
Nice-to-have
Paralegal designation (or equivalent experience/education).
Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
Familiarity with derivatives documentation.
