Job Summary

Responsible for daily Equity and Fixed Income Stock Loan Settlements. This includes all Stock Loan clearance activity, mark to markets and pledge activity. Heavy interaction with Securities Lending front office and RBC counterparties. Prepare internal reports and balance all settlement activity. Reconcile daily activity between APEX, Broadridge, CDS and DTC. Issue and recall letters on open borrows and loans. Process Corp. Action activity and interface with Corp. Actions in Toronto.

As an Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to clients and trading partners through the daily settlement of Securities Lending deals.As part of our Business and Client Services department you will contribute to a center-of-excellence to help drive operational efficiencies and improve future scalability.

What will you do?

  • Process and monitor borrows and loans of bond and equity securities with counterparties to ensure intraday settlement

  • Work with counterparties and trading desks to resolve trade disputes and settlement issues

  • Process and settle cash related to daily mark to market on outstanding deals

  • Perform reconciliations and manage breaks internally and with trading partners

  • Assist with providing borrow locate numbers for short selling

  • Issue recall letters on instructions from Sales and Trading desk.

  • Interface with Securities Lending Sales desk

  • Adjust outstanding contracts for dividend and reorg activity

  • Implement and support process improvements to assist with Straight Through Processing initiatives

  • Settle JPM/BoNY Tri-party activity

What do you need to succeed?

  • Previous experience with back office Operations and interaction with traders preferred

  • Strong MS Office skills Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Post-secondary degree, preferable in a business related field

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a time-sensitive environment

  • Knowledge of trade settlements and/or the trade lifecycle.

  • Experience with ADP/Broadridge, CDS related functions an asset

  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment

  • Analytical thinking
