Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Temporary Position (1.0 FTE) February 24, 2025-June 27, 2025 Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) is a faith-based educational community dedicated to providing Catholic education. With 21 schools, RDCRS offers exceptional teaching and learning opportunities for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. The Director of Early Learning is the team lead for the Speech-Language team. At RDCRS, staff strive to make Christ known to students while supporting them in reaching their full potential. The division serves the city of Red Deer and surrounding rural areas, including Rocky Mountain House, Sylvan Lake, Blackfalds, Innisfail, and Olds. RDCRS employs approximately 1,200 staff membersfull-time, part-time, and casualwho collectively provide high-quality education to about 10,500 students. This employment opportunity is full time working Monday-Friday and following the school calendar.Employees would be eligible for Comprehensive ASEBP Benefit Package with benefits paid at 100% Employee and Family Assistance Program Group RRSP Matching Program Health Spending Account Mileage allowance for rural travel Access to Professional Development Professional liability insurance and college registration fees paid by division (prorated) Mentorship with senior SLP if applicable Primary Responsibilities: Provide speech language therapy intervention within the context of typical classroom activities; Supervise and work collaboratively with speech and language pathology assistants Pre-Kindergarten assessments for children registered in Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools Pre-Kindergarten programs; Liaise closely with teachers, educational and therapeutic assistants, therapists, social workers, specialists and parents who participate as part of each child's program planning team; Complete assessment and treatment reports (year-end summaries, etc.) to share with parents and professionals within and outside of the Red Deer Catholic Regional School System; Support students with complex communication needs in Pre-Kindergarten through 12; Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams including; Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Specialists, Psychologist; Provide professional development to teachers and educational assistants when applicable.
