Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the Labour Relations Advisor will be responsible for providing HR and employee/labour relations support to our Reliance Canada teams across the organization talent development, employment relations, compensation and training. This individual will be a champion of our award-winning culture and will work on HR projects which demonstrate our Guiding Principles of Work Safe Be Healthy, Drive to Win, Better is Better, Outstanding Customer Experience and Proud to be Reliance.

What will you do?
• Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers.
• Provide day-to-day support to Managers in Team Member development, performance management, progressive discipline, and all Team Member relations issues
• Assist with the delivery of HR programs and projects in areas such as talent management, engagement, culture, recruitment and selection, training and succession planning
• Maintain Team Member records within our HRIS and partner with HR services to ensure all Team Member changes are reflected in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the HR Team to identify, design and execute strategies that drive business results and promote our corporate culture
• Analyze people trends and on-going challenges and make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Actively work to understand key business challenges and objectives of the HR Team in order to drive a proactive approach to human resources and employee/labour relations
• Ensures familiarity with the language and application of our various Collective Agreements
• Participates in ongoing HR projects, initiatives and other work as assigned

What do you bring?
• A growth mindset: above all else, we’re looking for people who are dependable, ambitious and want to grow with Reliance
• A postsecondary education in Human Resources or a related field with CHRP designation (or actively pursuing) and equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3-5 years Human Resources experience working within a fast-paced environment, manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience and knowledge in HR areas such as employee/labour relations, talent management, performance management, compensation and training
• A proven track record of building strong partnerships within own team and cross-functionally
• A proven track record of delivery and execution of projects
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to multitask and can respond quickly to changing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to create quality documentation and communications
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other relevant applications.
• Results-driven individual who takes initiative and accountability to improve HR support and programs
• Excellent leadership, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Thorough knowledge of employment and related legislation (e.g. Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Employment Equity legislation, etc)
• HR experience in a unionized environment an asset
• Ability to travel to various locations in Ontario
• A valid drivers license in Ontario and access to a vehicle
