Classroom Support
For the 2024-2025 School Year
SCHOOLS : All locations. Successful applicants to the list(s) are able to indicate which schools they are willing to accept assignments.
SCHEDULE : On call basis. No guarantee of hours. Dependent on school needs. For the current school year only.
EDUCATION: Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent; post secondary edcuation in a related field including but not limited to Autism or Behaviour Science Courses/Program; Educational Assistant Courses/Program; Early Learning Courses/Program
SUMMARY : Assist the teacher, educational support personnel and early childhood educators in the classroom to help maintain a safe, caring and respectful learning environment. Follow lesson plans and/or instructions provided to you by the classroom teacher or other classroom staff. Provide supervision as assigned by the school Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Post secondary education in a related field
Ability to work in a team environment
Experience in a classroom setting or similar environment
Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks and assist with personal care
Ability to remain calm and non confrontational under pressure
Current BMS Training Certificate would be an asset
Current First Aid Certificate would be an asset
