THE RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
requires a
HVAC MAINTENANCE PERSON
LOCATION:
Pembroke Plant with frequent travel throughout the County
SCHEDULE:
8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
RATE OF PAY & BENEFITS:
Group 5 - $26.63 - $27.50 per hour

POSITION
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Shop Foreperson or designate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical and hydraulic equipment systems in assigned schools or other Board facilities. Assist other tradespersons as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12 education or equivalent plus three to six months of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems and principles. Completion of a Building Technician program would be an asset. Must be familiar with the current, applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations of Ontario. Must be capable of climbing ladders and carrying tools and materials (up to 22.7kg). Must be able to perform duties productively with limited direct supervision. Must possess a complete knowledge of all WHMIS and MSDS for materials used. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Have a working knowledge of the ventilation, heating and dehumidification
systems to properly inspect, maintain and repair systems used by the Board. Capable of working from drawings, sketches and work orders. Able to prepare written reports, defect list and other correspondence relating to the job as required using E-Base Maintenance Management Software.
Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the CUPE 1247 Collective Agreement and the RCDSB Administrative Procedures.
Members of the bargaining unit will be given first consideration.
